What To Expect


Before your session, Shannon will connect with you to talk through your vision — preferred locations, outfits, and any styling questions.

She recommends scheduling your maternity session between 28–34 weeks, when you're beautifully showing and still comfortable moving around.

On session day, she'll guide you through every pose, helping you feel comfortable, confident, and radiant. Sessions typically run about one hour.

Your edited gallery will be delivered within 1–3 weeks.

  • I always recommend choosing something that makes you feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. Soft, flowing dresses photograph beautifully and highlight your bump, while neutral colors and complementary tones create a timeless look. If your partner or children will be joining, we'll coordinate everyone's outfits without matching exactly. Once your session is booked, I'll send over a detailed style guide with outfit inspiration and tips to make planning easy and stress-free.

  • The sweet spot is usually between 30 and 34 weeks. At that point your bump is beautifully visible, but you're still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session. Every pregnancy is different though, so if you're unsure, just reach out and we'll find the timing that works best for you.

  • Absolutely. Maternity sessions are about celebrating your growing family, and I always encourage partners and siblings to be part of the experience.

  • Most maternity sessions take place outdoors around Castle Rock and the surrounding areas during golden hour for the most beautiful light. If you have a location that's meaningful to you, I'd love to hear about it.

  • Every session includes more than just beautiful photographs. Your experience, professional editing, and a private online gallery are all part of what I provide.
