What To Expect

No pressure. No perfect poses required. Just time spent together with the people you love most.

Whether you're updating family photos, celebrating a milestone, or simply wanting to preserve this season before it slips by, Shannon creates images you'll treasure for years to come.

  • I always recommend coordinating without fully matching — think complementary colors and similar tones, not identical outfits. Avoid busy patterns and bold graphics, choose layers when you can, and above all, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. Once your session is booked, I'll send over a full style guide to make getting ready even easier.

  • This is honestly the question I hear most often — and my answer is always the same: you don't need to worry. I don't expect kids to "behave" for photos. I meet them where they are. We keep things relaxed, take breaks, move around, and follow their lead. We might eat a snack. We'll definitely laugh. The goal is real connection, not perfect cooperation — and some of my best images come from the in-between moments that aren't planned at all. Your only job is to show up. I'll take it from there.

  • Absolutely — dogs are welcome at most locations! They'll just need to be on a leash during the session. I'll edit the leash out in post-processing so your final images look seamless. If you're thinking about bringing your pup, just mention it when you reach out and I'll make sure we choose a pet-friendly spot.

  • Honestly? It happens, and it's not a problem. Little ones get tired, hungry, shy, or simply need a break. We take our time, let them reset, and keep things light and pressure-free. Some of my favorite images happen after those little moments because kids feel safe enough to just be themselves.

  • Bring water, a few wipes, and a favorite snack for little ones. If your child has a comfort item or favorite stuffed animal, feel free to bring that too. We may not use everything, but it's always nice to have options.

  • Every session includes more than just beautiful photographs. Your experience, professional editing, and a private online gallery are all part of what I provide.
